I think a good leggy Plummer X Whippet would make a usefull ferreting companion, it would give it some nose thats for sure, and the extra size should stop it going to ground, buster.

that could be a very useful mix. The nose on my whippet is as good as any terrier I've had

You won't go far wrong with the usual suspects(beddys and bulls) though I suppose the other terrier breeds can bring something but we've got plenty of beddy x's and bull x's around, so it would be no need to take a chance imo.

Id like to see Irish terrier x grey or even the less common airdale it has lightesh enough frame long legs any pics interesting.

Yh ive seen penny taylors airedale lurcher in the countrymans weekley looks ok but the one i keep thinking of is an irish fox terrier x whippet or grey, speed and lengh of a grey with a the dense coat and good drive of the terrier in theory it seems like it could work as well as any other, would still love to see some pictures of any uncommon crosses people have.

My uncle had a Airedale greyhound years ago really good dog on rabbits took fox to pre ban had a good nose sensible couldn't get near a hare tho but a handy dog

Used to talk to some old boys back in the early 80s who are now long gone and they said some useful types had been irish terrier crosses way before my time. never seen one work i must admit.
