A1WOC 212
Due to other commitments I haven’t been able to visit a “permission” where I normally cull corvids. This week I was disappointed to hear one of my shooting friends had been given permission by the owner specifically to cull the shortly pairing magpies due to my absence. Fair do’s I thought, but my mate only has a .22 rimfire. I approached the lady owner who is also a friend, to explain my absence and also inform her that my friend John has an open FAC but only permitted to shoot on registered land; she said it was registered and it would be OK; I didn’t want to argue the point. Knowing the land isn’t registered for FAC due to close proximity of roads and public footpaths, I contacted my mate and offered him one of my sub 12ftlb PCP’s, he declined the offer but asked if he could borrow my cammo netting, and being a friend I duly let him use it. He spent two mornings this week on the property and managed to bag one kill. I hold no grudges but I was very pleased he has now decided to use a Larson trap instead of using his rimfire and avoid possible repercussions with the law. Regards, Steve Quote Link to post
stubby 175
if he holds an open ticket, the land does not need to have been checked, its down to the certificate holder to asses if its safe or not, roads and public footpaths do not make an area unusable for FAC, mine is criss crossed with them, Quote Link to post
