Deker 3,478
.................................................... Lots of people will have a view and many will suggest a rimfire isn't a Fox calibre, that is daft without further qualification, NO fox will survive a 30g V Max WMR within its operating range, if you want looooooong foxes then a rimfire isn't for you today! .......................................................................... Chaps I'm not trying to take this tread off topic or have a go at anyone, I have a LOT of different rifles/calibres and I take foxes in a LOT of different environments and at a LOT of different distances, hence why I feel reasonably qualified to suggest a rimfire IS the tool for the job in some situations, just as a CF is in other situations. I'm not trying to start an International incident and I refer you to my original comment in #2 reprinted above. ATB! Quote Link to post

The main difficulty in getting the message across appears to be with those that have a set type of shooting they do, and in a set environment, and have no experience of anything else. GEOFF.223 83
i got rid of my .17hmr as it did not fit any category between my 22lr and .223 as ammo cost over .223 was not end of the world stuff and i could not fully silence it like the .22lr so now i just use the 22 for close range and noise sensitive areas and 223 for longer ranges Quote Link to post
d.nelson 9
What's rounds prices for 223? Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
What's rounds prices for 223? Expanding factory ammo approx 50p upwards, FMJ a bit less, reloading is not that much cheaper. Just the same it is easy to pay £1.00 PLUS for ammo. Quote Link to post
Wino 3
By us 22lr isn't a fox round as far as our fao see's it....over the years I'd say 22lr has despatched more foxs than any other calibee..:.. Put together. Quote Link to post
