B.P.R 2,798
Anybody rate the scolloped fork tips. Seen them before and decided to give them a go. I havent attached bands yet but at this stage i can see they do what they are supposed to do....keep the band running true on the middle of the fork tip. Also i round the front of the fork tips extra so the forks have less of an edge to them where the band will be running. I make sure they are smooth with no sharp edges. Does anybody do similar? THE FRONT EDGE OF THE FORKS WHERE I ROUND THEM EXTRA TO PRESERVE THE BANDS. PROBABLY NOT NEEDED BUT GIVES ME PEACE OF MIND Filed after 'scolloping' before sanding smooth. Sheffield Catapults 71
I've experimented with them but haven't noticed a difference to be honest, some people prefer them when using tubes mind.

When using tubes? Surely they benefit the flatbands more than tubes unless you really filed the grooves in super deep to let the tubes sit in them?
Sheffield Catapults 71
Have a look on the slingshot forum it has been discussed there a few times pal, personally I haven't noticed any difference in band longevity using them.
B.P.R 2,798
It wont effect the band longevity bud. It just keeps the band in the centre of the forks for more accuracy. Or its supposed to. What may help with band longevity is extra rounding on the front of the forks to keep the bands under minimal strain there as in the pics above
micckey 106
I use a extra bit (about 8mm) of tube put round the thera band on forks to stop wear nd tear, also to speed up the ttf style of shooting. It works for me ,But everyone shoots differant maybe I will add some scollopes on the inside of my forks ...I like to try things myself I can never trust anyone who tells me or states This is a must or this must be done.. I have to try it myself just to see what they mean ... This is my biggest fault... lol Edited January 28, 2013 by micckey
