mk1 for me, i suppose one day ill have a proper fiddle with a mk3, but tried it this season and got my hair off after a few tries, ill give it another try soon, but my mk1's do me fine

Ive used both and still own both my MK1 is the 8ft with micro collars worked good for me till the MK3 came out and i bought it straight away as it had the extra 16ft search function and it was great from the start till the box started giving false readings and i had to get it fixed.

For some of the older guys its a Bit like asking which is best? Abacus or calculator. They'll tell you the Abacus, because the calculator has too many buttons. ;-)

I've used both, and the mk1 is ok, but the Mk3 is much better, As accurate, maybe more so, once you know how to use it properly, longer range, comes in handy for finding the ferrets, FOOK digging 16ft though. Mine has been 100% reliable over the last 4yrs, and its orange so I don't lose it.

The mk3m collars are waterproof, and can be turned on and off with the finder, although they do tend to tangle in the nets a bit though.

The mk1 can't do anything the mk3 can't. And it does then better.

Are you near any electric fences or pylon`s, that makes them go nutty. Theres talk of Iphones making them play up too. I turn mine off and leave it in the motor.

Bleeping all day???? just have it on when the ferret kills. And even then if it does ya nut in...use the pin point dial to turn the noise down.

obvs not all day you donut...but we had about 8 digs yesteday and thats a lot of knocking. my point is why switch or why did deben attempt to improve it when the mk1 does it so well anyway?

The Mk3 is not so much a reinvention of the wheel, it is a modern improvement,

Your right about the wheel though, it has never been reinvented because the Original did the job so well, but you don't see too many cars with Wooden spokes nowadays. Evolution of the Wheel. :-))
