I'm lucky, I an arbourist ( tree surgeon ) and bring a transit load home most days. Use a lot my self but sell the rest for beer money and sort out my mates.

Where's my chicken coup?

finnished it mate, landed myself a job didnt i. what chicken coup, i know a mate who is selling one as it goes, was it your fishery that had a load die of. heard it was around tonbridge way

Im lucky only logs i have go down the toilet

and there normally seasoned overnight

My best mate had a load of pine chopped & stacked which he kept in the nursery greenhouses for about 18 month , he was moaning that it burnt too quick , sure enough it was sitting at about 3 or 4 % u could near light it with a lighter..

I used to get all the off cuts from a company that built timber framed houses, would get 5 or 6 tote bags a week, couldn't burn it quick enough...

 

They say that pine has a lot of sap in it as well that is bad for your flue liner if you have one. If you are going to burn wood you want decent hardwood like ash or oak. Pine is the best for kindling though.

 

I had a load of pallets and logs that I'd spend days cutting up. It filled half of my big coal bunker and looked amazing. We'd burned nearly all of it within about 7 weeks :(

 

Unless I could get hardwood very very cheap I think I'll stick to coal
