thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,482
It's always a bit of luck who will win a one off match, I've always thought the best way to find out the best between 2 dogs is to do best of 3 on 3 different occasions and see who wins the most matches, then you really know which is the most consistent or at least a re match best of 3, 3 times there is no dispute then Yeah, great , in an ideal world . The reality is its difficult enough to get one match off . What with keeping both dogs sound for a particular day , the weather , the farmers , the old bill or what for whatever other reasons which may crop up ! It's not that simple and it rarely runs smooth from the day the match is made to actually getting on the field . yea I'm just saying which ever dog wins a one off match doesn't mean it's the best dog necessarily Link to post

paulf 820
remember lads that theres a lot of miles that have to taken just to get this match on so its not as easy as some would think to have best out of 3 though in an ideal world that prob would be better. 1 Link to post

boyo 1,398
been around running dogs enough to know that win or lose on the day ,it doesnt mean one is better than the other. all it needs is one to pop in a hole or pipe and matter of winning or losing neither dogs fault either way . at the end of the day both dogs are top class and at the top end of their game and both should be acclaimed for that good luck to both because when 2 dogs are as evenly matched as these two then thats what it boils down to ,luck on the day . I wouldn't agree with you mate if that's the case whats the point in even matching if both turn up on the day an one gets a hammering or a few get piped tough Link to post

baw 4,360
Sure you know chancey no point acting he 5 year old. old head v young shoulders,,, could come down to how the ground goes .best a luck to both dogs :toast: As a neutral with no alliegence to either dog, it's Definately going to come down to the ground. Bulldozers owner hoping for rain says it all for me. The fact Lucas owner is willing to run his dog in bulldozers back garden, on ground he isn't used to, in an illegal country, speaks volumes for the guy. I tip my hat to you sir.... As for a rematch, if Lucas wins there won't be any point. It's obvious from reading on here bulldozer prefers the heavy stuff. Does this make him a superior dog? Does a race horse who likes the going heavy better than one who doesn't? The odds are stacked heavily in bulldozers favour, if he wins, proves nowt to me. Unless his owner has the same balls as the Lucas owner. Personally I can't see the match happening. Anyhow, that's my views and I don't mean to be disparaging to any of the owners or dogs, two fine animals worthy a place in anyone's kennel. Good luck to both, C'Mon Lucas 2 Link to post

Good luck to both, C'Mon Lucas A very good post that,to me a dog that can only show its best on deep sinky wet blank land isnt as superior as a dog that can act on any ground anywhere the same as a race horse, everything will be in the other dogs favour and thats why most of the nuetrals want lucas to be victorious 1 Link to post
