J Darcy 5,871
we have ruled out the posibility of it runnin back into corn field mate first thing we hoped for. theres three different train tracks the side were on is a disused one that they used to take coal to the power station . do you think it is possible they could be that far in we have checked both sides for a good 100 yards each way. I know it's a very daft question, but are you sure that the terriers went in the spot you are digging at? Has there been a definate confirmation of this?.... Yes, of course, there 'could' be a shaft, but it would be very unusual surely to build a railway on top of an open shaft? You need someone there with experience with bankings and/or terrier location......knock a series of bar holes in along the base of the banking as deep as you can, listen with coat over your head, preferably during the night/early morning. That may help to locate something, anything. Whimpering is what you are hoping to hear. Like others have said, drop a dog in with a bellman and find out where it stops. ...good luck with the rescue. 1 Link to post
