Its all speculation on the rabbit hole One things for sure if you have some purse nets, poke nets and a long/stop net you will be able to net it. Even if it slows the rabbit down the dog will pick it up, so dont worry, just try different things

A bloke I ferreted with when I was a kid had a little old one eyed poley hob that was a serial killer, he used to drop the hob in and stamp all the holes in then followed the hob with the locator marking an X when it stopped for a minute

Not the best method to use in most places but the shallow peaty burrows we were doing it was very effective. Feck me that old hob could kill quick.

Or just forget the hole and use a couple of cunningly placed 5 yard stop nets they are very handy to have in the bag and catch well

Unfortunately I didn't get time to get to the hedgerow today but taken everyone's advise on board and will have a think as to the easiest way when up there.
