stevethefish 80
We dropped back onto the last spot we left unfinished the other day just hoping for a few to keep the keeper happy. We had taked 72 from here just a few days ago so didnt expect too much. Having said that there are always a few to be had on here, we do it every year and it still throws up big numbers the following year. With the cold and heavy snow we had experienced we knew it would be a bit of a grind, however I love ferreting in the snow, its exciting and the rabbits give themselves away with all the tracks etc. It was just going to be a half day so we had the full crew out, at least we had plenty of hands on the job, makes up for lost time. We drove down the field, struggling a bit with all the snow and got straight into it. We decided just to use stop nets instead of purse nets due to too many bolt holes covered in snow, you just know what would have happened. Its good fun using these nets, gives the dogs a bit of sport too as they can nail a few when they bolt. We had an excellent start, the first set was under tree cover, we did net this set as it was relitively snow free. A quick 10 from this, brilliant, and warmed us up a little, it was very cold with the easterly wind blowing. We managed to finish this short hedge in just under 3 hours and although the day was still young the guys were eager to get back and get dried out and warmed up. We called it a day with 45 and were very happy with the result, not bad for 3 hours I guess. 3 Quote Link to post

NEWKID 27,159
That's a great bag for a short session, infact it's a great bag for a long session lol My favourite way, using a couple of stop nets and anything that runs the field is sport for the dogs... Atb Kev Quote Link to post
