Deker 3,478
I heard that calls and e-mails are screened for key words or phrases. Apparently, if you send an e-mail containing 'al-Qaeda', 'home-made explosive' and similar phrases, immediately followed by a completely 'innocent' message (to the same person), the second message arrives first, because the 'suspicious' first message has been screened and intercepted. I can imagine that somewhere like GCHQ has this capability, but how would they track me down and disrupt my commu Computer and network surveillance programs are widespread today, and almost all Internet traffic is or could potentially be monitored for clues to illegal activity.Surveillance is very useful to governments and law enforcement to maintain social control, recognize and monitor threats, and prevent/investigate criminal activity. With the advent of programs such as the Total Information Awareness program, technologies such as high speed surveillance computers and biometrics software, and laws such as the Communications Assistance For Law Enforcement Act, governments now possess an unprecedented ability to monitor the activities of citizens.%5B1%5D  I'm not following this thread, there is nothing new being discussed here, simply further education of those who had no idea what goes on!
