whippet 99 2,613
Out pheasant shooting with friends, brought 8 month old patterdale, fox ran to ground after being fired at, dog went to ground, could hear him fighting fox, they moved to near entrance 5ft away under root of tree, I knew he had fox killed, had no way of digging him out, we went on a bit down ditch, 10 minutes later him came out followed us down ditch, I said I'd go back to burrow and get some barbed wire to pull out dead fox, fox was dead at mouth of burrow, he had pulled him to entrance, delighted with him. I was hoping to hold him him off to a 18 months old for burrow work as many people advise that. Is he too young to be trying even thogh he killed a fox, he's being killing rats since 3 months old not many terriers at that age will kill a fox ..............you could be on to something special there............obviously got some shot in it....
