pinguu 169
Ok when you look online beyond the classic lurcher x's you often come across something like saluki collie bull grey x beddy whippet collie bull saluki grey. or the best i have seen is beddy whippet x beagle whippet russell. is it just me that thinks this is just careless breeding for a quick buck or do people genuinely consider crossing dogs so many ways to produce results.... i am slightly ignorent to this as i prefer either whippet collie or saluki grey or bull grey etc etc.... reddawn 2,173
most crosses like that are just best to best, who cares whats in them, aye its okay to have a ruff idea of whats in it, but best to best is how some folks roll 6 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I think if someone had a saluki/collie/grey x bull/whippet and it was working really well and his mate had a deer/beddy/grey x wheaten/grey which was doing equally well then there would be no reason not to breed lurcher x lurcher. But there would be 8 breeds in that mix. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
It's just lurcher to lurcher breeding with hopefully the emphasis on working ability from both sides ........ Quote Link to post
Greenseed 50
Most of them are scatterbred rubbish bred by idiot's i have seen some useful bitza's though 1 Quote Link to post
longrunsfox 2
i think once u put more than 3 0r 4 different breeds into the 1 lurcher u dont see the benefits of wat u have put in it to build ur gd lurcher Quote Link to post
jack68 628
As most are saying, if your breeding best to best you will at times get 4 or more breeds going into the Pups, some lads never go back to a full greyhound but at times imo I think you have to but that's me..atb Quote Link to post
Greenseed 50
Breeding a good lurcher to a good lurcher does not guarentee good pup's sticking to lines and good blood is where good pup's come from imo breeding scatterbred to scatterbred usualy produces average useful animal's and very few cracker's 2 Quote Link to post

General lee 979
I think when you put so many crosses in a dog the pups are to unpredictable they seem to throw back to a type like a collie bull Wheaton greyhound x saluki beddy greyhound you get pups that look and act like a saluki or a beddy or whatever else just my opinion before I get people jump down my throat Quote Link to post
