Right Lads

FAC Application submitted a couple of months ago. FEO wants to arrange a visit next week, bought a 6 rifle, extra deep gun safe with top lock this afternoon, HW100KT up for sale in the sales section.. I just don't know whether I want a .22 or .17HMR?!..

 

Advice please!

each have there good and bad points talk it over with you F.A.O

they will lean towards the HMR due to decreased risk of ricochets, it all depends on what shooting you will be doing the most,mostly lamping the 22 with subsonics ect.

Aye they shoot flatter and a longer distance than the .22 but the .22 a fair lamping tool as the ammo's a fair bit cheaper

ive had 2 HMR`s a CZ452 and a Anschutz 1517 sold both however ive still got my CZ 22lr :laugh:

That says a lot Paul.

 

I dont do much lamping at all to be honest. I find the long range accuracy of the .17 appealing but the ruggedness of a semi auto appealing too

ive had a semi auto aswell but much preffer a bolt action if im honest,

I prefer a bolt action rimmy but i can see where a .17 might help for lamp shy rabbits with the extra range other than that im no too sure there many benifits over a good .22 with a silencer

My pennies worth elliot ,had in my time loads of rifles,.22 .22hornet 223 22.250 ,.22 semi .243 and on &on.....the best of the lot FOR ME.......22 LR bruno bolt action .Had one for years then for some darft reason bought a ruger 22 semi..liked some ammo did't like others,2years ago got another bruno(CZ)...same as the old one,would shoot doughnuts if you could chamber them,! The gun cabinet looks bear know,.22 ...6.5 couple of shotguns...anything i cant kill with these gets a free ride!!!! ps quality optics are the way forward
