How About A Vintage Airgun Fayre To Be Held In The Midlands Area.

After posting an ealier thread last night, asking if there were any vintage airgun fans on here. On which Simon (Pianoman) did one of his normal, very eloquent and entertaining posts with regards his past air rifles, he is obviously the type of person this thread is aimed at.

So how about about we organise a vintage airgun fair, Bell Target competition and general meet up of kindred spirits for lovers of older air weapons. Where vintage airgun enthusiasts can buy and sell vintage airguns, pellets, magazines, period scopes and other associated items. Plus take part in an organised Bell Target comp, something that is happily growing in popularity once again but has its routes going back to pub comps in the early 1900's.

Take a look.

I also feel we obviously need a venue situated somewhere in the Midlands area, so we have a central location in viable reach for enthusiasts from all over England and Wales at least and within easy reach of the motorway network. For obvious reasons in a place where Bell Target shooting already takes place. I know a lot of vintage BSA enthusiasts I have spoken to either already take part in Bell Target comps or like me would like to, although I already shoot Bell Target in our garden with a 1920 vintage BSA Light Pattern its not at comp level.

Sadly the already up and running Sutton Coldfield vintage airgun fair has been cancelled after only two years eventhough it was proving a popular event. Terry Doe has already said he will advertise such an event in his hobby magazines so lets not waste what is already a bloody good day out and reason to spend time and money with kindred spirits.

Surely we have an existing Bell target club in Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham etc within easy reach of the countries motorway net work with the interior room and potential parking to make this a viable and annual event and meet up. This way you lot in the South could come to without it being to far hence the idea of a midland based venue.

Any ideas from THL forum members much appreciated.
