Smoking Rats

Recommended Posts

that's interesting what you've both put. We was smokeing one a few months ago and you could actually see where the tunnels went with the smoke coming up through the soil. Then back to good old faithful digging

If that works for you fella then stick at it, abit of smoke shows you things you might otherwise miss, like you say, were the tunnels run near the surface, atb, buster.

I think smokers work now and again , for me I like to see the dog mark and u dig the rat out but following the dogs nose , digging in front of terrier , trenching till the dog either finds the nest or makes it bolt to the other waiting terriers , smokers do work , but most time the rats either sit it out are come out f****d not able to run gassed out by the fumes ,I just stick to digging them, had a few yesterday round the pheasant pens .

Thats fair enough mick but I cant imagine killing numbers digging them if you dug the pens/gamecrops we did you'd be on weeks mate. Smaller spots fair enough but the keepers on the estate we done wanted as many killed as possible in a couple of weekends at the end of the season before they started putting poison down. It was a 2hr drive mate so we couldnt just pop up there through the week.

No didn't work, but it was interesting. Digging always seems to work for us best, smoking doesn't seem to work all the time only now and then.
