Sirius 1,391
a mate dug one out today pulled one out of the stopend and the one in front of it bolted, but he managed to grab it. his dad reckons he pulled 16 out of a stopend when he was a lad 16 lol .......... Thats quite a claim, a reasonable dayout in one stopend, he must of had arms like Mr Tickle to get them out once all backed up, must be several meters end to end 3 are about as good as I have done.... max abell 196
We had an 8 once which I doubt will ever happen for us again, got 32 out of the burrow in total which was only a ten holer in the middle of a paddock. The place was like watership down when we first got on and nobody had touched them for years but its shit like everywhere else round here now a mate dug one out today pulled one out of the stopend and the one in front of it bolted, but he managed to grab it. his dad reckons he pulled 16 out of a stopend when he was a lad Does his dads 3 legged dog hair course too? if this chap can get 32 out of a 10 holer i think 16 is a reasonable number. this would of been on his own farm so no one else was allowed to touch it and it would be 30+ years ago when there were less people at it Not saying i believe or disbelieve the mans statement 16 does seem a hell of a lot but i suppose anythings possible. But what is not right is i started ferreting 35yrs ago and there were far more people that ferreted then than do now ferreters have gone down in numbers over the years not up Quote Link to post
