Ecclesfield Beagle Hunt

Recommended Posts

Over 50 years ago as a young man, I hunted with Ecclesfield Beagle Hunt, and have very many happy memories of days out in the Pennines. I left South Yorkshire around 1969, and have had no real contact with the area since. Does the hunt still exist? If it does, or if not, is there any archive of materials associated with it?

jash were do they meet initially pm if you prefer mate thanks

As with all hunts it'll depend where the meet is on that day, google them and you'll get a number off Bailey's, they'll be able to tell you where coming meets are.

Yes I have mate, they usually come up for a couple of days towards the start of the season, couldn't make it this year but it's been a good do when I have been out up here. I always try and get out with them or the Barlow when I get back home visting friends/family.

You're right about them being a good pack they've some great land they hunt that usually provides some good viewing of them working a line. They're a good bunch that make you feel welcome and you're right about lot's of characters...LOL

Jasher, if you are in touch with anyone from the Hunt, I'd appreciate being put in contact with them. I have written to the email address in Baileys, but no resposne yet.

In your post you mention them visiting the Borders. I didn't know there were any beagle packs in Scotland.
