bullyson 2,023
My mate is thinking of lining his his 21" bull to his dads first cross. the dog has done everything ( pre ban ) rabbit - hare - fox - roe - fallow - reds single handed and i was just wondering what uses they would have besides drawing etc. any pics of reverse 3/4s would be brilliant as well as what quarry they were worked to pre ban. cheers lads, keith Quote Link to post

DIGGIT 6
they will be no good for work lol what would you use them on Well i think you need to decide what type of quarry you will be taking with that type of breed befor you mate the dog's, as a 3/4 breed will limit you some what. ie fox or them other big feckers as for ferrets saying they will be no good for work thats just bolox. let me now what you decide, pm me and till you the best way to go about the bullx Quote Link to post

bullyson 2,023
not getting one just intrested in other people opions thats why i asked. i will have some quality 3/4 grey 1/4 bulls in a few months to the dog mentioned above. cheers keith Quote Link to post
DIGGIT 6
they will be slow and to big for earth work if its got geryhound in don't talk shit they are not meant to go to ground , they are there so when you break through to your terrier they can take over, its called not letting your terrier get the shit kicked out of it, and as for being slow thats up to the lad, on what quarry he is going to take, with a 3/4 bred i don't think he will do much rabbiting with it. thats y you must get the right tools for the job in hand Quote Link to post
jonathan 0
ye but if i wonted a dog to take over in a dig when i brake thow i would have a half x bull grey hound less you can use it for other things two like lamping foxes before the ban Quote Link to post
DIGGIT 6
ye but if i wonted a dog to take over in a dig when i brake thow i would have a half x bull grey hound less you can use it for other things two like lamping foxes before the ban do you think for 1 minit he gives a feck about the ban , like me and most peps on here with a dog's like that he will be out lamping most nights killing all types of things . and in your last post you said they will be slow and to big for earth work if its got geryhound in it and then your saying i would have 1/2 cross to help out the terriers so i think you need to set down and have a think Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
at a guess i would say breeding your mates dads bull to a 1/2 bull/grey wont have any real advantages... i think the results will be no better than breeding 2 bulls together?? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
Hi matey, just get a good half cross then its a bit more versitile...or.... a very good 3/4 bred and get even more versitility and speed...JMHO Quote Link to post
Guest pip
I was after a bull grey 3/4 or 1/2 and asked around, after a few monthes my mate phoned and said that he new of a litter of 5/8,then he said but they re 5/8 bull 3/8grey?i said no ill leave it so the 2 other local lads took em and these turned out 24-26 inches and big strong dogs, when i seen em i was gutted that i had nt bothered,as these dogs are going great guns for terrier work and lamping but to bulky for hares,we picked up a dog pup out of a 3/4grey1/4coliebitch to a big staff dog the pup is 8 monthes 23 inch and strong as a ox for fox work perfect build but whether he turned out single handed is another story.Any one heard of the 5/8bull 3/8 grey x before as it was news to me. Bosun11 537
Seen a reverse 3/4 a few weeks back at the North Wales show (St Aseph), a crackin looker, the dog just looked like a pure bred an was for sale (wonder why), any Copper worth his salt would be right 'on' to a dog like that if stopped, especially if it bore the 'mark's' of its trade. I prefer a few more gears, most halfs should suffice..... Quote Link to post
