I remember the freeze ir only just we used to have a canal at the back of us and n the other side they made the blue invalid cars we pushed them onto the canal and had races up the canal for a week the only other abnormal weather i can recall was a heatwave in 1976 they called it an indian summer we thought it was a great time we could swim in the canal

Feckin media is what is wrong, building everyone up into a frenzy over snow reports that are just flashes in the pan. Look at the freezes that the USA and Russia get, and life carries on!!

If it wasn't for the publicity about the forecasted weather, people would just get on with it.

All feckin week I have just heard people and kids angling for a potential day off because of the snow.

No wonder this country is fecked!!

Think how many extra vehicles there are on the roads today compared to 1963.. The capacities of the roads haven't kept up with the increase in traffic so things are bound to hit the fan when something like a bout of cold weather hits. Our transport system is a joke even when the weather's perfect!

Also I don't think most people are as bad as the media make out they are either, most people cope perfectly well.. Every time we get a bit of heavy weather the news and weather forecasts might as well be on about Armageddon!

Na malt the cars back then never had abs power steering etc etc. the roads were not as well built dual and motoways were in there infancy , it the people whinging moaning fookers. The media want fooking as well. In some parts of europe you would get fined for breaking down in the snow or skiding with rhe wrong tyers. This country needs to take a long hard look at its self or at least the shandy drinking south does lol
