Just want basic training really and see what happens later in the year as a rule bitches mature faster than dogs and the bigger the dog the longer still one here was shocking untill he reached about 2 one day everything finally clicked into place, far to many dogs are given up on before they have had the chance to fully mature Quote Link to post

I'm lucky that he can run round the farm most of the time and do as much as he likes/need. He has freedom but I take him out round the fields and woods for a change. He is my pet more than anything, just want some training before he becomes a menace to neighboring farmers etc Quote Link to post

I can only add to take things slowly and keep the training sessions short - 5 to 10 mins max. I haven't even started on retrieve with my pup yet - we're still working on recall. When that is perfect we'll move on. He will bring in rabbits, after a fashion. Quote Link to post
