I have had no success with it. I have a feeling mice will have to be starving to give it a go.

Tried it twice and upon the follow up visit had to remove and pop something else down which was taken rapidly. So not wanting to look a fool in front of a customer it has stayed in the van.

May give it another go but that may be when I end up with mice in my shed!!

Used to see it a lot in the 80's but didn't realise it was still around. Worked bloody great :D

Revived and rebranded. Another substitute for the products that have been removed from use.

Has it been renamed

No it's still the same gear. Albeit not like the old stuff you mixed yourself. Its ready made into a paste.

Black pearl.

Cheers moxy interesting to know, in the pest magazine they gave black pearl a good review but I have spoke to a few other lads who have some and they dont seem impress with it, also it's not approved for rat use, why is this?

Because if the mice won't eat it your going to be stuffed to get a rat to!!

Black Pearl has been getting rave reviews.

I've got a tub, and have used it with good results. The difference between Black Pearl and the old Alpha products is that this one is micro encapsulated, so the mice tend to eat a lethal dose before they realise what's hit 'em. No need to prebait, and the bodies are usually within six feet of the bait point.

It's not approved for rats because it's not that palatable, and the fear is that a sub-lethal dose will lead to behavioural resistance and tolerance.

The only slight fly in the ointment that I can see so far is the label condition that says that it can only be used for up to ten days.

Tegater is that the same stuff they use for bird control in other countries?

Yes Europe and I think in Ireland.

It is safe to use if done properly I believe, and non target species can be brought round again by bringing into the warm, but illegal in UK.
