bwfc 164
I have a 1994 .22 break barrel Webley and Scott Excel carbine. Its just had the action sorted out and a new spring fitted.Ive just done all the bluing and spent days sanding the stock oiling it and getting it looking better than new.I put 50 pellets through it,and all of a sudden it wont cock.It will only cock 3/4 of the way.I cant see anything obstructing it,So before i take it back to where i got the service has anyone any ideas whats gone wrong?.Im sure it will be a simple fix, fingers crossed. Tron 173
Hey bwfc make sure it hasnt cocked the trigger by dieseling after a strip relube job? often happens on early webley springers after a strip/tune try tripping the trigger first see if it clicks if so cock the rifle again and see if its OK again. if it does it again then follow the above procedure untill the dieseling has gone. 1 Quote Link to post
bwfc 164
Thank you for this it has done the trick, and this afternoon ive zeroed a new scope in and put a hundred pellets through it.The rifle was a real dog and painted blue when i got it,and has now got a new lease of life,in fact its better than new.Its had the ultra premium tune up kit from chambers and had all the internals poished.Heres what you get.... Ultra Premium Kit - Webley Excel This kit contains all that is required to Ultra Tune your weapon, including Mainspring (OX or TS, please state which in 'Comments' when ordering),Ultra Spring Guide,Top Hat,Piston washers,Breech/Transfer seals,Ultra grease & lube, along with full instructions & parts plan. Whilst my mate was doing all the technical stuff with the action i was working on the stock. The paint was removed with nitromaws and after several hours sanding i realised the stock is a nice piece of Oak.After two nights of sanding the stock i applied the first layer of walnut stain and left it overnight. The next morning it got another coat and a final one that evening. The next evening it got a few coats of tru oil then i set about giving it a moderate buff up but nothing overboard. When i got the action back i set about removing all the bluing with t cut, and buffed it to within an inch of its life!.I had just fitted a 3-9x40 Tasco camo scope when this issue ocurred, now kindly sorted. The rifle now looks superb and is accurate and hits hard,a rifle now to be proud of and totally useable.I had intended to keep it but it may end up the the classifieds sooner than later,as thats the way i have always been.If anyone is interested in what it looks like i can show you the final job.
