FUJI 17,324
Earlier on today myself and my lad Frankel headed out with a few mutts in tow..we went about 12/13 miles from home I'd say onto the Fells that over look Bassenthwaite Lake, wasn't too cold really speaking I didn't think, the ground on the lower parts was like bell metal but curiously the higher we got it didn't feel as bad well not to me anyway?..when we parked up there was several cars and a quad with their occupants all getting their hiking gear on etc,we were out the motor and on the fell in 10 seconds haha infact within opening the gate the terriers put a rabbit out of some gorse and they followed through the hedge onto the road and straight past all the hikers...oops! We had a cracking couple of lung busting hours up on them there Fells, the terriers worked like Trojans and the little bitch was knackered when we got home..Don also grafted extremely hard and it was he who got wind of something way up on the upper Fell and it wasn't long before a big old bunny jumped from its seat up in some heather,he made great strides on him and was homing in as it reached the brow of some crag with Swift hardly in sight, just as Frankel ran over the crag (well I wasn't fecking running) he seen Swift doing an upside down slide with the critter in its mouth..poor owld Don haha..not much further along the Fell I seen another of the same sneaking down through some trees towards some really thick gorse bushes so we sent Don and the terriers on its trail and keeping Swift with us just incase the bugger tried that sneaking back tactic and that's exactly what happened..Swift didn't mess around, two or three bends and it was game over...so we ran two and came home with two...I had the pups and they really enjoyed getting fired in infact the little shits were being a nuisance hanging off them when we were carrying them haha..cracking day it was..got a few more trips planned during this cold spell so hopefully we will keep the mutts ticking over?...Atb Andy 5 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,324
the wooded area in the pic back in the days of yesteryear used to forfeit some serious amount of Roe...not sure if it's the same these days but I can't see why it won't be as good a holding area at the least? 1 Quote Link to post
