thorny 100
Just wondered if any lads on here have a descent little bushing terrier to line my Russell to this spring. Only breeding to keep a pup to help her mum out with flushing to lurchers and guns whilst beating. My bitch is only small 12"tts and easily spanable. so dont want a monster to line her. Looking for a spanable smart looking dog of around 14" tts in the hope anything I keep will be a little more up in leg than mother. Plummer, russell ect ect just a good honest worker that dont disapear down holes every five minutes as that wont suit the sort of work we do. Cheers 2 Quote Link to post

chrisbullx 2,541
I agree with most that you have said mate but why have it got to be a smart looking dog mate?? That shouldn't matter mate it should be based on working ability I wouldn't care if a dog was bow legged, pointy ears, under shot & cock eyed as long as its a top worker & have proved itself over at least 3 or 4 seasons atb cbx 1 Quote Link to post
thorny 100
Sorry mate I get what you mean, what I ment was a dog in good condition, dont want to turn up to some flea riden critter.Although having said that it is nicer to have a nice looking dog about the place rather than something that looks like chunk from the goonies, but as You say as long as its job who cares. What have you got then Ruby2013? Quote Link to post
Ruby2013 0
I've got a liver and white springer Russell with a touch of bull best bushing dog I've seen apart from his father bays on scent like a hound. Looking too get a pup out of him with the right bitch. I will try and upload a pic. Tell me about your bitch how old? What's she work like? By the way if mine does go to ground I can just call him out I only bush Quote Link to post
thorny 100
Sounds a handy dog mate. My girl is a couple of years old and although this is only her second full season she does what I need of her. My only real intension of breeding is to keep a pup myself as I could do with a pair. I shall have her spayed after pups. Just fancied having my own litter rather than buying another dog in. What size is your lad he sounds a bit on the big side for my wee lassie. She is only 12"tts and weighs 19lb Quote Link to post
