lapin2008 1,587
Why don't you tell me why keeping dogs inside makes them shit. I'd like to hear your views? For one thing houses are generally nice and warm, I think if you keep a dog in a house it'll get used to being warm and comfortable and then it won't like going out out in the wind and rain as much as a dog that's kept in a shed. I also just don't like the idea of any dog being inside. Mine live in the house and never have any objections going outside when its cold. Its personal preference at the end of the day, the mess/farts having to clean the house more often etc is the only downside that I can see. On the plus side as well, if you keep them in the house they are less likely to get nicked 4 Quote Link to post

Taz-n-Lily 62
Best two working dogs I ever saw lived in comfort with their owner on a narrowboat. My dogs live in the house. I have high hopes of the deerhound X when he's a bit older................... 1 Quote Link to post
GypsyJoe 36
Some of my dogs are kennelled, but some live in my waggon, I can assure you my dogs working ability does not suffer from being allowed to sleep by a warm fire, that thing about it affecting their working ability is his bias opinion based on old time poachers tales. Happy dogs work more effectively as far as I am concerned 6 Quote Link to post
bracken boy 584
for those who keep them outdoors hey thats good, to those who dont so what makes no differance as what ive seen with one of mine hes as keen as mustard and a eye for it, those who have theirs outdoors you seem to think thats your dogs being the ultimate dog hunter,, crap. to all just do what good for you. graham4877 1,181
so they are in a kennel when not working. they are chilled out a sleep In house when not working the are chilled out sleeping so how could it be any worse (or make it a shit dog) you'd get a better bond with the dog in house than you would in kennel..well thats my take on it 1 Quote Link to post

Admit it lamping lad, you've put this topic up as a windup fair play mate, seems to be working Partly, I've got the flu and I'm stuck in bed but I'm also interested in the topic. Quote Link to post
baw 4,360
Is the dog happier though. Can it get a proper sleep in an active house? Quote Link to post
