B.P.R 2,798
The whippet can jump most things. MOST being the important word here. She jumped a fence one night and out of the beam. Then hit it at another place in the pitch black and early knocked herself out. My other dogs jump 100%. Im just saying its really handy but a fecking pain in some places near motorways etc. I would have had her jumping better but thats life. Shes here- fit and well and thinks shes an 80lb bull x Baw, im not getting defensive mate and wasnt referring to my dog. Just asking whos dog doesnt jump as i havent read the thread for a few days only the last page. The way you write some things on here can come across different than you mean them too 1 Quote Link to post

A terrier that could talk to you would be a better all round terrier but its not a necessity. Quote Link to post

baw 4,360
It's a necessity for me blue. I'd rather have a gumsy dog than one that can't jump. Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354
it can be quite a pain in the arse lifting a dog over all the time, but if its dodgy as feck its got to be done. my bitch will jump most things if i see fit..but if its risky better off taking the time out to get her over it tidy. i dont think a dog WILL NOT jump, i think every dog would jump, especially if bitch in heat next door...so i dont think a dog cant jump, just build it up slightly as you go along, if its for you like.. by the look at how many pages it is , its turned into abit of a bitch fest aalready lol Quote Link to post
gibbo1973 187
ive had 5 lurchers in 20 yrs all have jumped if its a double fence i always command a wait and get to them then lift them over the 1st fence and let them clear the 2nd ,pre ban if i had my pair of blue bitches in the 90 s what didnt jump they would not have accounted for the foxes they took out of the lamp, they jumped blind sometimes when i think they ve lost off in the beam, no jumping equals lost quarry in the bag ,if i think the fence in a pain i'll put my leg on the top strand and let the dogs jump on my leg to get over a high flyer LOL 1 Quote Link to post
