Bedding For Ferrets ??

I use a sleeping box inside the main hutch with shavings for inside main hutch.For bottom of sleeping box shavings as well with barley straw on top and have never had any trouble with pests in straw.Have housed all my ferrets this way for years breeding them in same type of bedding.Ferrets can sneeze some times if they breath in dust like any other animal,you have to change the bedding before it breaks down into dust and dont just through new barley straw in on top of the old stuff replace it each time.The main thing to watch for with straw is that it doesent get wet or damp as it will go mouldy.If you have a ferret that is constantly sneezing its possible it is allergic to hay/straw (hay fever)like some people and other animals can be.
