actually tried this setup following ur steps n have found the following

befor installing the camera u need to remove the led ring of bulbs by unscrewing the lens cover n simply cutting them off

the lens needs to be a 16mm cheap one from ebay for about £5 n simply undo the grub screws n unscrew the lens n replace with a 12mm thread 16mm lens

also when u have the lens removed ther is a piece of glass inside the camera that needs to be removed right in the bottom with a small screw driver, it helps the camera pick up the ir

this setup is good for about 25 yds, anymore you will need a better ir illuminator, i have this setup on my leapers 6-14 scope on 6x zoom cause it doesnt work to well on full zoom

hope this helps as have been following this for a while

have mounted my screen on the side of my gun which saves looking down n you can hold the gun close to how you would originally!!!

camera wise your looking for at least 0,001lux.

sens up is a croc..slows the frame rate basically.. go to hi with it and a bloke could walk past and you wouldnt see him.

last..olsan black IR's... for the price they are spot on. bit of piddling about but well worth it.

you'll have trudge through on here about them, theres a couple different olsons but one in particular for the IR, and a 950nm one worth a look

Well I had it all calculated. Then I bought a markylight..... Let me tell you they are amazing little lights. A little heavy but, so far I reckon it'll see about 200 yards with the kt&c bullet cam.

Now it's built I could not have bought a lot of parts.

I needed

kt&c Camera with 12mm lens

Weaver picitanny rail x2

90 degree weaver mount

30mm weaver HIGH mounts

25 mm weaver HIGH mounts (I have a 1inch and 30mm scopes)

LCD screen (I didn't bother with dvr)

Li-ion battery

12v dc splitter cable

Bnc adaptor (from RCA to BNC for video)

Depending on the ir illuminator you use a mount for that

Red filter for theatre lighting. (Cheap and thin)

Ir illuminator I went with a markylight 50mm

Where did you get the camera and lens from? Any chance of posting some links? Also where did the markylight come from?

Cheers
