@gnasher. If it landed up the old Kent rd all the local community would've help out , that's what their like this side of the river . What I mean is all the scrap metal would've gone double quick lol!

no shit sherlock........... seems as a genuine accident and we will see if it is mechanical or pilot error................in the near future.............

or the house of parliament done us a right good favour

Just spoke to my son in law he used to work for Westland Helicopters he was saying the helicopter that came down was a twin engine job which doesnt have the same restrictions in terms of routes to what single engines do....and apparently they have a great safety record..........he said he,d be surprised if it wasnt a pilot error type thing rather than a mechanical fault.................time will tell i spose.

Right next to St Georges Wharf......i was there yesterday !..........Cant believe at that time of day in an area as busy as that a helicopter can come down and only 2 people dead !!

Same it didnt happen a mile up the Wandsworth road it would have improved the area!

Just looking at the pictures it looks like it has come down up Nine Elms, lucky really............if it had fell on the one way system it would be a massacre

Think its landed between the 1 way system and the flower market......( right next to David Hayes gym !! )....had it landed on either at 8 o clock in the morning :icon_eek: ............still cant believe theres only 2 deaths.

Nobody round there has got the brains for that........the local Millwall fans probably thought it was Berylson trying to do a Matthew Harding !!

question is why was he out the fly zone,.....................no zone would be that close too the ground unless takeing off or landing........... :hmm:

The building was 51 stories high, and the crane was above that, I don't know, which is why I'm asking, but is that what you'd call "low"?

Gnasher said above that he'd been told that twin engined helis can fly in more areas than single.

i havent a clue ..................i know above the sea even with search and rescue they shouldnt fly less than a 1oo feet above sea level................they still do it but its very risky..................im just using logic that the chopper should of been flying at a higher zone............so first question would be why was the chopper there at that level and secondly was he in control of it until the point of impact,.........there could be evidence of emergency procedures before impact, but i dont know what it would be in the city, if they were ditching in the sea theres different procedures ,...involving turning the engines off etc.................no doubt time will tell..........
