hi all new member on here and thats my hunting male deerhound in one of the pictures have kept deerhounds purely for hunting for the last eight years and test them to the limit ...not going to pump up the breed but those of us who work them over in ireland do test these dogs and i personally have never entered a kennel club show not saying its bad just not my thing....so anyone with questions on the breed or general chat welcome ...hi doxhope im sure you know who this is..

Hi roan and welcome to the site would be nice to hear a bit about your deerhounds and see some pic's .I have a deerhound bitch myself dont do a great deal of hunting with her but enjoy watching her run when i do have her out.

They are all such great looking dogs, I love DHs, the first dog that we had was a DH, not a hunter, but a good dog ,

 

 

And here is all the dogs that were in the house when I was born until I was 8.

 

 

the DH and the Tri-coloured JR were the best ones there

lol it is, we had more dogs then that to, but I can't find pics of them, there was also a GSD bitch called Cassie, and a Smooth haired Fox terrier called Denis, and a Dobe called Zak, I have photos of him, but he died when I was born I'll have to ask how tall my Deerhound was, but he was as tall as me from what I remember lol.

 

Heres me when I was about 6, with my big dog, its a good job that he was soft, other wise, I would of spent all my child hood on my bum lol. And don't mind my clothes, my parents are evil lol.
