jigsaw 11,863
I went to visit a mate of mine at the weekend and was blown away by his new kennel set up and his hunting permission. The 1st pic is of the kennels hes just built, not quiet finished yet but you'll see the class effort and cost that went into it.He is adding a kitchen onto his kennels soon and has heating inside the building that supplies the house and kennels.i always thought my kennels wern't bad but they're pure shit compared to this set up. The 2cd pic is of his bitch, she is used extensively for coursing. She is an honest bitch and he is more than pleased with her.She is also looked upon as a part of the family. When you are about his home you'd forget the dogs are about as they are so laid back and chilled out. The 3rd pic is the same bitch, cant you feel the love between them Head shot of the same bitch The 4th pic is of his dog,a pup out of the deerhound in the film''Man about dog''.Hes a faboulous elegant animal. The bitch along side him is a D/houndXG.Hound cross. The dam to this bitch is a famous coursing dog, sorry cant reveal the name as the service was provided without the knowledge of the owner She is a very fast bitch on the outrun but after a few turns she looses pace.Mind you the countryside he hunts is pure mountain and hardley any fields at all there. This is the dog again below. Hope you enjoy these few pics.More to come Quote Link to post

heart of wales 19
Coursed with deerhounds with a mate about ten years ago his dogs name was bad very similar looking ,he was a bad mother f"""ker and all loved charlies, caught his fair share of hares on the lamp on big fields. We are having a simulated coursing meeting for all sighthounds at our show on August 18th ask yer mate if he would like to come would love to see them going on a course. Them kennels are better than some houses I have been in Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
I myself have not seen these dogs run.....YET,but that was the purpose of the weekend,I'm booked in to see the action next winter.A few of my mates have seen them and said the drive they have after game is very surprising,at home they are laid back but in the field they are determined.BRAN his dogs cant get up to a hare fast enough in flat small fields,he has told me all about them.He never bigs em up,he's straight talking,no bull.He put a 3 year old dog to sleep only last week as he wasnt up to much.He believes a good lurcher would in general burn the legs off of his D/hounds in normal circumstances but on the rocky terrain they are not up to the job.He told me they catch a good few hares but he enjoys the course more than the catch. As for foxes, the dogs devour them when they make contact. They are plenty fast to take fox.Frank they have taken spoties and are decent enough on them. Now the kennels are the buisness,Heart of Wales,i'll be talking to him next week and will pass on the offer to him,he cant get the internet yet as he's moving home soon and he lives in the arsehole of nowhere(I'm not kidding, miles from anywhere, but the pub is 4 miles away so thats not too bad )He'll be on the net before September and I'll get him to introduce himself here.
