mhopton 807
The best net to me is a myth I use all type of nets and they all work really well even the 4z nylon they tangle easy but are very good catchers and hold the rabbits better than all of them but every one to there own really buddy , to me the best net is one with a rabbit in atb mark Quote Link to post
Magwitch 687
10z are reasonably priced, dont tangle or rip and dont need drying........................and will last you a long time. 1 Quote Link to post

frogspawn 2
copper wire is ok,doesn't snag much,or fog but it's hard to knit. Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
Any net if set properly will catch a rabbit but these days the guys prefer brightly coloured spun nylon Quote Link to post
AndyKelly 251
like the one says any net will catch a rabbit but a wider net seems to hold the rabbit better if you go for anything in spun poly try to get it 17 -20 meshes wide then its enough to dispatch the rabbit in the net anything less and the rabbit can twist out Edited January 14, 2013 by AndyKelly Quote Link to post
lifelong cumbrian 1,826
I have always made my own nets and have diiferent sized ones in my bag and a few poke nets. My prsonal view is to have a few larger and smaller nets in your bag aswel as averege ones for different situations, sometimes in thick thorny cover i like to use a smaller net that will draw up faster than a big net and so will have less chance of snagging and losing the rabbbit. I always set a puse net first then put the peg in last making sure the the draw cord is fairly taught this means the net starts drawing up fast which does make a difference in snaggy situations, this is just my personal opinion though. 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Netrigger kindly sent me a couple of Braided nylon purse Nets to try out. Bill says they are excellent for thick cover, good for hedges and woodland, pick up little crap due to the twines make up. tried them on Saturday, on a strip where branches had been cut, so it was rough, cleaned the burys as much as i could. Nets worked well, and like most of Bills nets, rabbits head through the net, so was not going anywhere. Quote Link to post
