I start all my nets on a six inch needle then once ive emptied that i swap over to a fully loaded eight inch needle but some times i have to start another needle to finish the net theres no harm in a join if its done correctly . I think the only way you will make a net without a join going threw a one inch ring is making shaped nets

Does the 10 inch loomis still go through a 1 inch ring paulus, cheers Adam

I have both sizes of the 10" loomis, both fit through 1" rings fully loaded, although a little tight at first. I can get full net out of the wider of the two needles. 3'6"

tink il get this loomis needle instead or a 10inch 1 the 1 i have must b the 8inch any other cheap places to buy twine other than aguti or is that the best place

There may be others but I get mine off agouti or eBay when people sell off their old stuff.

All 10" needles, the right hand one is the wider one agouti sells along with the hi viz spun poly twine. Will def get one net using the wider needle, but it is a little tighter in the ring to start with. Just slows the first row down a little but no major problem.
