My disco has seen it's last days, so I went out to look an old Jeep yesterday to replace it. It has a full service history, new MOT, runs well and is perfect for what I need. It needed a few bits done to it, but the dealer was not interested in budging on the price one bit or rectifying any of the faults. One flash of actual pound notes and he had agreed to replace the windscreen, the struts that hold the tailgate up, the battery, tax it for 6 months and knock £100 off the asking price. Pay cash for everything, have an o2 money card for online purchases (its like a prepay credit card) Its nice not being in dept, i let my other half control the finances once and we ended up in dept and behind on rent Cash is king especially in current climate, if i badly want something i save up for it. The average amount owed per UK adult (including mortgages) was £29,634 in January. This was around 122% of average earnings.
