GregT.22 0
I was recently out on a new permission, late afternoon mainly to check out the ins an out of the shoot,As i'd gone into a small area of trees an noticed quite a fair bit of pigeon crap on the floor. so obviously where the woodies were using this area for roosting. So i decided to sit in a good position away from where i'd found the crap on the floor an wait as dusk wasn't far off.About fifteen minutes later 2 came swooping down quite close about 20yards,slowly lifted the hunstman dropped the one which was the clearest shot. Then about maybe 5-10 minutes later in came a few more but couldnt see them untill sods law had it they were straight above me which was an impossible shot, but trying to move myself into a position to make the shot.clap they where off.To be fair no matter what i'd done wouldnt have made a difference, Anyone got any hints on this happening again.cheers Quote Link to post

silentshot1 206
Try and put yourself with your back to the sun with gloves on and your face covered, stay as much as you can in shadow and move slowly. Won't always be possible, but may help. Also, either raise the gun as they land or leave them to settle a couple of minutes before aiming. After a pigeon lands jn a tree it looks around to check for threats, then relaxes. 2 Quote Link to post
