Maximus Ferret 2,063
I always found feathered game the hardest to teach my dogs. Just like a dog will learn a rabbit close to a fence is no use, it clicks birds fly. I always found putting them in full pheasant pens helped a lot in the training process. Or hedge bottoms at release time, with wire mesh at one side. (He mustn't have read this thread). Quote Link to post

scotty2306 37
So no 1 has still actualy told me what a good cross is well mate i say get a pup off parents that are doing what you want your pup to do,and that way you stand a good chance of getting what you want, everyones idea and views on a allrounder is different.and what x to get well 2 dogs bred same way can be totally different as far as working goes if you know what im saying Quote Link to post
bird 9,984
Wat use think about saliki x bull x greyhounds av always had older dogs which have had many off problems looking on starting from scratch . Thanks dog of this type, bred properly will tick most boxes, with time put in yeh on paper this sounds like a good x, (speed+ agilty, stamina, tenacity.) should catch most stuff. i did see a nice young dog ( bxgx sxg x bxg x sxg) last years at a show, and real nice dog from good proven parents , so if you drop on a good pup of this type x could be close as a good alrounder you might get Quote Link to post
