baldockbanks courser 598
If you get a good un I would expect them to follow fox to ground if get a chance, there a pain in the ass on bambis will follow them for hours! I would get a spaniel or spaniel x terrier! That's a handy thing to say as advice get a spaniel. No wonder theres small gene pool and not many people working them compared to other terriers. There seems a lot of digging snobbery when it comes to this breed if you don't intend to use it to ground don't bother. After taking in advice from various people with diffrent views i took on a pup a month ago, she seems very sensible, ill fetch her up for what I want her for, not many fox to ground round here really, if she turns out an all rounder I don't mind if she just bushes that's fine, surely that's what there for, not taking to holes. 3 Quote Link to post
Rory4 267
It ain't the snobbery it's honest opinion from what ive seen and I stick by that, bambis are the worst problem they love the scent of them and go completely deaf for hours. Not alot lads giving them a try for earth work is the problem there's plenty of bushing Beddies out there 1 Quote Link to post
baldockbanks courser 598
I don't work big blocks of forestry there's none round me, she'll have a job slipping away over the surrounding ariable big fields. if she hunts every inch of a small cover/wood for f & d till its completely empty I can live with that and my lurchers should be sharp eneough to be in the place to run any fleeing rabbits! She will hopefully make me a few keeper friends killing rats after the shooting season so I can get my foot in. If she self enters ill deal with it and shell have to wear a locater, but my plan isn't to take her to earths. Surely that's the bedlington more people would value? Quote Link to post
