Rake aboot 4,936
After all the grief with my spaniel, (who is still declining) I got home last night to find out the lurcher is not eating, and worryingly not drinking. Vets,, looks like it`s a stomach blockage, so xrays and kept in to go on a drip, seriously dehydrated,, fekin unreal, no luck at all just now.. it was torture leaving the poor bugger with the vet,, fingers crossed that whatever it is passes through, cause an op will kybosh the rest of his season as well,,

sandymere 8,263
Hope it sorts, any idea of the cause? Smooth objects such as pebbles can be a real problem or to much bone in the diet or just bad luck.
Rake aboot 4,936
Just spoke with the vet. No blockage on the x ray, so thats good, he`s perked up after being on the IV for a while an has eaten so we`ll see if he keeps it down, looking better though, so fingers crossed

Rake aboot 4,936
Cheers Geoff Bloody nightmare, but the vet reckons he has picked up loads after getting fluids,, if he can keep food down he`s cracked it.
Ayrshire Lass 74
Sorry to hear they are not well, hopefully on the mend. Nightmare when they go down sick. Bit of a bug down here and our black boy been quite sick and not eating, but slowly getting back to normal now. Hope they both pick up soon, atb, x
Rake aboot 4,936
Thanks Anne Not looking that great for the spaniel tbh, he can`t put weight back on, he`s eating and shitting fine, but can`t absorb the protien so is skinny as hell. The water tablets help with the bloating, but until we sort out the gut problem, he`s not looking too great. still perky enough, but very thin ! Hope your dog gets on the mend,, there are plenty dog bugs doing the rounds
