Swampy 147 Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 Try Cider. Easy as you like. Reccomend using honey or syrup in the same quantities as sugar. You don't even need a kit, although they are available. All you get is concentrated apple juice and a bag of yeast. Last batchI did was coming in at abot 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 %. and very drinkable Rekon I've lost a few days drinking the stuff. FLATTOP 4,627 Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 I have made most things alcoholic got seven gallon of cider on the go at the moment, but if you are into dark beers try and get hold of a book by judith irwin called making your own wine and beer there is a recipe in there called christmas special which i made and it was stronger than barley wine. Ah bless your innocence I don't know really, I leave it in the bottles for 4 months after fermentation, then drink. Some age 6 months, no idea how long it'd keep for though. ciderbob 121 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 11, 2013 went into wilkos the otherday and seen they are now selling coopers so thought id try some coopers stout used almost 2kg of sugar as i put 1 1/2 kg in the larger for a bit more punch just hope i aint turned it sweet ... i dont use an hydro / 1 of then galss thingys so was thinking 10 days in the bucket then a week or 2 in the barrel well it never lasts the 2 weels in the barrel Quote Link to post Share on other sites
