Require advice zeroing SMK B2 .177

Recommended Posts

Any need to offend? How about just some nice advice. We all started somewhere.

True. Dont think he is trying to offend anyone tho. They are a great intro gun for plinking cans ect and set many people off into a lifetime hobby of of air guns just like the legendry. gat gun did. You get what you pay for, which is a rifle for the price of a budget scope. Cant fault them for what they cost. We Cant expect good groups but lots of fun for there price.

I`ll give you some nice advise .

Take your very low budget plinker , and dispose of it .

Then , get some nice well earnt money , and spend it wisely on something that is worth it . Not something that you hope is up to the job , but deep down you know it isnt .

Once you have spent a reasonable amount , on a half decent rifle , you will notice that things like accuracy , power , and allround build quality are easy to obtain .

Again , spent a half decent amount on a scope , and you will find your rig is 100% better .

If you look around and do your home work , you`ll manage this for a small amount .

OR , in laymans terms -

May as well throw it away and get something decent .

See , no matter how its said , it all comes to the same conclusion :D

Hi Craig.

Could be your barrel's had a bash and is slightly bent to one side and down? Given what you say that you have checked your scope and you've run out of adjustment on the scope turrets, I'd say your barrel was bent askew and off-line.

Have a good look running your eye along the rifle and barrel length to the tip of the muzzle and see if it runs perfectly in line with the cylinder.

Edit to add.

I cannot disagree with Buster's response here. This is a hard truth he's saying here Craig.

Hey all... thanks for all your advice.

Ok where to start.... Yes the gun is fitted with a silencer. but I've already ruled that out as the course of the problem.... Yes ruby16 I made sure to center my scope before zeroing it.. I'm using "RWS Superdome" pettets & my turrents are in the right place hehehe...

Buster's, I total agree with this that this is a low quality rifle/ scope and a lot of people hate it for this reason. Though I'd prefer to play around/ learn with this rifle then mess up or make a silly mistake with a more expensive rifle down the road. I also understand that I'm not going to be able to shoot very accurat with this rifle. But then the groups I've been shooting are pretty close together there just off to the lower left. Which means if I could figure out a way to modify the rifle/ scope it would shoot the correct area of the target.

Now I know some of you would just give up and bin it without even giving it a chance, As its much easier to just go out and buy a pre-charged rifle that never misses, but I prefer a good challenge and to be able to modify/ put my stamp on the rifle's I own, I know there is a way of getting this rifle to shoot a bit better then it already is. I just thought I'd try asking some people with a bit more experience then myself to see if they could give me some advice on how to soft out this problem.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the comments about the B2. I bought one a few years back and spent a lot of time & money trying to make it shoot better. Even then it was pushing out about half the power it should have been done. Id spent hours zero`ing it in, then next time I went to use it would find it would be well off again.

Still, I did get a few magpies with it whilst I had it. :)

I found the silencer didnt make any difference to it, it was still a very noisy gun. There are guides online where people have tuned them up, but unfortunately the bottom line is, they arnt really worth the time & effort.

I ended up giving mine away to a mate for free and buying something else.

They really are a bag of shite that are more for garden plinking than as a hunting rig, I've had the odd one for a laugh now and again and its like shooting with an elastic band !
