Also with the smaller sizes there's more chance of them growing up too cloddy or slow. I've only been having a laugh on here, as I suspect Dan was...... but this has to be the daftest post, (unless you are taking the piss) !! How is a 24" more "versatile" than a 25" or a 23" ?? And "small dogs grow up to cloddy or slow " ???????? where on earth did you get that one from ??? Cheers. Charts your a fussy bugger. The lad had to pick just one height and chose 24 because it's around the height expected for a more versatile dog, I'm sure there's every chance a 23 or 25 would be versatile to but we weren't allowed 3 choices now were we? lol. The best rabbit dog I have ever had the pleasure to see work would have been somewhere around 20-22, put any man with a .22 to shame . But imo her size helped as well as hindered her. We had the intention to take a litter from her trying to knock the size up in the process but alas it doesn't look meant to be. Shame because that bitch lacked little but a bit more size. The small equals slow and cloddy thing I am lost on though. The "lad" didn't have to pick anything.... just as you and I didn't !! Dan was taking the piss !! He runs hounds and running dogs on quarry most on here can't comprehend of !! I't's a wind up ! Can't you see ?? I've hunted all over the world , with guy's like Dan, and his worst nightmare is that I'm comming out to see him, and drink him under the table and run the rule over his curs.... LOL !!! Cheers. I'm a bit pissed off as there isn't a 29" choice, as my Deer/Grey Pencil Neck will take as many rabbits as any other size dog ! There's shit 22" dogs and there's shit 30" dogs ............ !! Cheers. Regards Bryan. sorry to burst ye bubble pal, but thats just sillytalk, 18 inch whippets will catch the odd bunny, soon as the land starts to get humpy an bumpy them wee dogs start failing, i seen it happen loads a times, an not way just the 1 whippet either, or on lamp, same results daytime an bolting bunnys way ferrets on same land 2 Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
If all I was gonna point a dogs snout at was rabbits Dan, then I'd go for 23/24 out of your list, though i'd be just as inclined to be seeking a robust (not heavy) frame and constitution because i'd expect the fecker to run 'em anywhere... FUJI 17,328
Just ask David Lloyd or Jim as both of them have caught "monster" hauls with their dogs of late...maybe 24/25tts I'd hazard a guess?...the rest of us may think our dogs are good and as long as they keep us happy then that's all that matters..BUT the proofs in the pudding so to speak with them chaps and their canines.. 6 Quote Link to post

Just that if they do come heavy they are more likely to be too slow to be very good as rabbiters. As for the rest I'm not even going to bother explaining anything more to you. You're in a bad enough mood already today. Happy birthday. Quote Link to post
