What the feck is happening to this site  a lad asked a civil question and instead of people explaining to him in a proper manner that this type of traveller isn't common now adays .....they just start trying to ridicule them

I bet World Hunters knows exactly what the majority of the p***y's are like but he asked about whether the old style traveller still excists .......thats all !!

If you dont have anything decent to say dont say anything ............

All the best Tommy

True words Tommy...

I think the best word to explain WHY there are not more 'Romany style' travelling folk around today is quite simply...HARD..... The 'life' on the road is hard...too fecking hard...

All the best,..cheers,.CHALKWARREN... :drink:

Was that the Bedoins who keep salukis in the desert CH?

Frank.

I'm not much of a Saluki fellah Frank... :icon_eek: I'm not the guy to ask about them Bedouin boys... :)

There are some real affectionados of the type on this site,..they would know far better than me... :notworthy:

Most of the dogs that I have seen running in the sand looked fairly crossbred and raggedy old critters ,..but they sure was toughie's... fecking had to be I suppose...:victory:

Where I work an old fella with a scewbald mare camps at the roadside every year. Camps there for 3/4 days and moves on, sits around an open fire drinking tea. Thats my idea of the old romantic gypsy, the closest I ever get to it is taking the caravan away to a quiet site, sitting outside in a summers evening with the dogs relaxing. As chalkie says though as romantic as it sounds, the thought of finding water, food, grazing for the horse before you relax is hard work when there are so many "modern" alternatives.........

the old man youre on about simoman ive seen a good few times each year while im driving around nottinghamshire and lincolnshire borders , it looks a peaceful way of life yes i even seen a famous artist drawing him 1 time about 3 years back but it just not practical any more ,i thought about going on the road hundreds of times abit of work here and there around the fire at night with the dogs ,yes it would be great ,but not in this day and age.
