cz 452 varmint best ammo

Recommended Posts

When I bought my CZ .22LR's I tried half a dozen different makes of ammunition and was amazed at how different they all were. In my case the Ely subs would not chamber easily and were very tight making the bolt action too stiff. CCI were shooting all over the place. Winchester subs were quite good.

I found that both of my guns like the SK .22LR Subs made by Lapua and I buy 500 of these (same batch) at a time. Zeroed at 50 yards I get 1" or better groups at 80 yards with a 4" drop. Unfortunately these rounds are slightly more expensive than most but the quality is very good.

The bottom line is that every gun is different, even the same model. You really must try half a box of as many makes as possible and when you find one that your gun likes buy lots and stick to it. It will take a few shots to settle the gun down to each type so don't base your decision on just a couple of rounds of each.

Look on the bright side, for about 25 quid you can spend a large part of a sunny windless day having fun popping at targets at 50 yards or whatever distance you prefer.
