Gaz_1989 9,539
Just bumped into a lad with an 18 month old Deer/Grey x Whippet. Brindle, broken coated, 24" tts, good long back and possibly the best feet I've seen on a dog. It's a pet unfortunately. Does anyone work one? I don't think I've ever heard of one on here. Taking ages to come is about 24 inch arched whippet back ! Have you got any photos mate? How old is it and what doesnt impress you? I know they can take a while to mature (anything with deerhound in) but I imagined this cross would be pretty decent... Cheers Gaz Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
She's lovely mate. How tall? Was one parent deer/grey and one parent whippet? Quote Link to post
hubbs 178
She's nearly two years old ! I was hoping shed be a little more solid than she is she looks more greyhound x whippet to be honest but really whippety ! She's been ferreting since a pup as I've took her with my bro ! Just to give her the best start! Take her lamping the rabbit runs one way and her the other ! She's a very fast dog I'm just having problems with her channelling it ! Won't walk on rough ground ! I was climbing through a hedge one day and she ran off rather than push through took me about 3 hours to get her back as she bolted ! She's had the best training jumps perfectly recall is normally excellent ! Quote Link to post

I really like the idea of this cross and just wanted to see what a few looked like and how they worked, its not a cross that crops up very often. Gaz Quote Link to post
hubbs 178
Yeah she's got us a bit worried ! We had a look and liked the idea of the cross and the breeding is there but you do get good and bad in a litter ! She's still only young so we will see ! I'm gonna have to work her with my others see if that helps her ! Not something I like doing just in this case might help 1 Quote Link to post
