Guest bob
what is it about dogs that draws us to them now there's lots of different ways to kill a rabbit yet most of us prefer to use the dog its the one thing we all have in common no matter which dog / type we all like to use the dogs to catch are game me i love to see the dog run on the lamp twisting and turning gaining some ground then with a twist or turn its either lost some ground or its coming back to you with the rabbit in its mouth ive done a bit of shooting but its just not the same end result is you've got some rabbits in the bag but it don't get the heart raceing Edited July 8, 2007 by bob Quote Link to post
FastDogz 155
I dont hunt personally as i have nothing to hunt with and no where to hunt but i was brought up around it and for me why id choose dog over gun anyday is because simply nature taking its course....nothing more breath taking than seein a dog with its bags at the end of the night or vids of them even if they are for me just on comp i still get that buzz and hope to have a night out sometime the comin season if i can find anyone to tag along with near me - pref female dont fancy a dark field with a strange bloke Quote Link to post

In your case mate it'll be the fact that you can give them a "good kicking" without getting an ASBO especially a collie X. By the way where did that thread go to? Quote Link to post

Guest joe ox
The Challenge and it gives me the Adrenalin rush which you dont get from living a normal 9 to 5 life. I love rearing a dog from puppyhood into a adult and watching all my hard work pay off. Quote Link to post

lurchergrrl 1,441
IMO anyone who kicks/beats their dogs has no respect for how dogs learn and communicate - only seems to make the small minded feel they're tough or something stupid like that. I got my lurcher as a family pet knowing full well what he was actually bred for. He comes from excellent working stock but I never intended to work him mostly 'cause I didn't have the time or knowledge. Seeing him with my kids, watching him run, just sharing my home with him, all these things have made me realize how superior these dogs are to so many other breeds. I've had my share of different breeds including a wolf x who did hunt, and for me lurchers are the business When he caught his first rabbit and proudly brought it to me the bond got even stronger. So in a long winded way that's why I would really prefer to only hunt with my dog. Not much bonding going on between me and a gun Besides, I'd probably only end up shooting myself in the foot! Tonymac 0
What is it about Dogs? I think its many things. Raising a Pup and seeing him come good and knowing you bred and trained him is a big Buzz. Watching nature take its course when on a Hunt. I think with us types its in our Blood and no matter what we do,theres no getting away from it!!!!! tony Quote Link to post

rabitin girl 16
I dont think you can beat the special bond that you get when working with your dog If you resort to abusing your working pal you will never get the best out of any dog IMO Quote Link to post
