Guest Duzabit
Don't worry, just leave it, a dogs saliva is full of natural antibobodies, he'll be fine. Duz

I gave him an asprin last night as he was well subdued, probably in pain. Does anyone know the correct doseage per weight of asprin to give a dog? Asprin tablets vary in doseage so saying one tablet per 50lb wouldnt really help MOLL.

Snelly 0
Molly, Sorry your dog got hurt - looks painful... For an average lurcher, half an aspirin twice a day. My wife is a pharmacist. Regards, Snelly.

Regards, Snelly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks very much Snelly, would that be half of a 75mg or 300mg tablet? I gave him a full 300mg one at a roughly 65lb dog. I just reckeoned cos an adult can have 3 x 300mg then one would be ok for him? MOLL.
kiwi 4
have you ever asked a vet about giving a canine asprin molly? to kill a cat it only takes three tablets crushed up in some mince over two days, i pretty sure the dosage for a dog is not much more, something to do with eating out the lining of the tummy. had a mate that lost a dog when his young daughter threw a box of disprin out the window and the dog found it. phil wright 2
ASPIRIN ..... 5-10mg per pound of bodyweight,at least thats what my book says.it also reckons the cheaper tablets are fine as the more expensive ones for humans have stuff added to stop ulcers but a dogs stomach can handle it. its the safest non-prescription pain killer for dogs and is a good anti-inflammatory. I knew it was asprin for pain and NEVER paracetamol, but never the correct doseage. So roughly a 60lb dog can have one 300mg tablet. A 15lb terrier can have one 75mg tablet. Brilliant! MOLL.
