when you work away from home you do work all the hours 7 days a week makes sense every time ive worked away thats what you do there wouldnt be any point working away from home then your there to earn money

 

I agree mate, I worked away a lot missed things with my kids because of it, but i would work mon to fri and back for the weekend with the family, the bloke I was talking about had settled here with a 4 year plan to earn as much as he could and go back, he had a wife and kids but decided to work all hours and sacrifice his family time for work...... There are far worse people allowed in our country who offer nothing and take everything they can.... My point was the Eastern Europeans I have seen at work are hard working and at least offer something...... But I do not employ any, because I would rather have British people working, I haven't been about as long as some on here but in my 20 year working life there has been some big changes and not many for the good IMO

I really get pissed off when folk slag off the e europeans. Yes there are obviously exceptions which will always be highlighted in the Mailand other racist papers but in general they are capitilising on right of any european to migrate for work.

I've had to interview people for work who normally I wouldn't let through the gates.

18yo lads who have never worked in their lives and have no intention of doing so. The only reason they have turned up is because the job centre insists they do

Comments include."I wont work weekends" (Apparently he was a season ticket holder for Liverpool) "Do I get travel expenses to get to work?" "Do you pay for lunch?"

They turn up in my yard wearing track suit bottoms and trainers, late and then insist that I sign their bit of paper to say that they've attended before they've even had the interview. One who turned up late left after waiting 10mins in the foyer because I was interviewing the other candidates.

I am as patriotic as they come, but I was running a business which had to pay my mortgage. Am I supposed to take on a bloke(or girl) purely on the basis that he's English? Of course not. I will employ the person that I believe will bring value to my company. Any employer will say the same.

The E european has to be paid the same amount as the next guy/girl. He also pays the same in tax.

I had one Lithuanian lad, who lived in rented accomodation with four othersshared one bedroom. He could hardly speak english. After 6 months he was conversing with customers on the phone because he paid for himself to go to evening classes to learn. He is now doing an HNC in mechanical engineeringagain paying for it himself al be it working for a different company now because he was poached).

I now work for a company as I got pissed off with all the red tape, beaurocracy, H&S etc. At one point I was tied up in a tribunal because one guy was off sick for so long with stress supposedly caused by me and the hours that he needed to work. Still managed to drag his ass to the race track/pub and then found out he was taxi driving aswell.

Yes there are many good, hard working British folk out there. My argument is; That in general e europeans are hard working educated efficient workers and not the scrounging work dodging layabouts that many on here purport they are.

Contraversial as it may be. It doesn't make it wrong.

I've ran my own business for Over 16 years , and finding the right labour gets harder and harder... We employ either on the books or sub contract around 20 people... But I always employ British labour, I have worked on huge sites around the country with every nationality under the sun, and there is no doubt the Eastern Europeans are some of the hardest working on them, they do long hours, a ground worker who was on the same site had worked every day for 8 months he was making enough to pay for his house in Poland and go back, you can't knock his work ethic to support his family........... But as it stands I employ only British, it just sits well with me, not all young British lads are lay abouts etc, they've got to have the opportunity to work or we won't get back working.....

but your just a kid lol,...........do i see a little discrimination in your post ,..........why do you only employe british i mean you cant say to people who apply for jobs ...sorry only british,.............or advertise for just british.........lol.. :laugh:

A mans got a house and a family to support he cant do it on £50 a day from a farm in the middle of no where. Just because a polak living 5 to a room can dosnt make the british worker lazy. I do a bit of work for 3 different firms now and again when i'm quiet on the pest control, all 3 have an eastern european each, they thought at first that these new workers were the best thing since sliced bread, all 3 went on to sue the companies for something or other, 2 have had kids which have moved back home with their mrs yet they still claim child beneifits for even though the kid isnt in the country.

 

Our local supermarket has a 6 month waiting list for jobs, many are grown men that have good qualifications.

We need to make cuts but you cant force the unemployed into work when you have given all the lower paid jobs to migrants. Britains doomed, we will never get away from the people who really pull all the strings in this country, who control the media and the 3 party system. We cant even agree on a hunting forum who to vote for. Take to the streets? Dont make me laugh, unemployed, low paid.....most people are still quite comfy and as long as they can get by we just arnt programmed to worry about the type of country we will leave for our kids.

Well not human rights (Lets not open that particular tin of worms eh?) Discrimination at work act I believe.

If you employ only british people at the expense of a european without good reason you could be done for discrimination.

I have had Poles ringing me for work but I rather use the labour I know, I have worked with all of the gangs I have on and I've recently taken my nephew on as an apprentice training towards an NVQ in roofing and cladding ( he's already more qualified than me lol)...... I don't feel I'm discriminating, we're a small firm and I don't have to interview or ask for cvs for my site labour.... I would never get embroiled in race discrimination, equal opportunities blah blah... I employ who I want to employ, I would like to take another young lad on as an apprentice fabricator, if the small firms don't give the young lads an opportunity to learn a trade what chance have we got......

good for you mate taking on apprentices what is the trade you say roofer is that slating roof tiling is cladding a trade ?

 

Steel work and cladding mate, we design and build steel frames, and the roofing and wall cladding got a small workshop for all the ancillary steel work ( staircases, handrails etc), we also do single ply flat roofing....... My grandad was a flat roofer and so is my dad and he hates these modern roofing systems lol...

i was only saying ,............i dont blame your attitude of employment ,its agood one,...........

i think i would struggle to trust some of the robbing mothers,...............they got nothing to loose
