Looking for a home for my young lurcher dog

Recommended Posts

After a lot of thought I've decided not to take my lurcher dog back to Australia with me, so I'm looking to rehome him. I'm not after money for him it's not about that to me. I could give him to a mate here and he would get work but would spend most of his time in the kennel. That's not what I'm after either. He comes to work with me every day and spends al ot of time in the field, not just weekend lamping. So basically I'm after a genuine dogman to take on my young dog, someone who will care for him and love him as well as work him hard.

Now the dog; He's 16 months old, dam was a beddy/whippet sire was a 3/8 collie grey with a bit of bull back in the line. This is his first season obviously, he's coming on very well, a decent rabbit dog already, works well with the ferrets, can use his nose efficiently and hasn't marked wrong once!

He's had two vixens which I'm required to say were shot and retrieved. I was impressed by him in this as he's only 23" and obviously young but he did his job with style

Not sure what else to say, he's very hard working and is a smart, switched on young dog.

I love this dog to bits and he won't be going to a muppet. Genuine dogmen - pm any questions

Thanks for the comments lads, I'm gutted to have to do this but I figure there might just be a genuine lad looking for a pooch for the long haul   @Rake Aboot it was a tough decision but I plan on f

Shame that,, pity you can`t take the dog,,

I don`t think it`s a much hassle to take them as it used to be, but I`m sure you`ve given it plenty thought,, looks like a nice mutt,, hopefully someone decent will take him on.

good on you mate..make sure you give the new owner a trial...not on the dog but the owner,

some numpty ends up with the dogs and all your hard work is wasted..

If they want and deserve the dog they will be open to you vetting them and making sure they are worthy of the dog.

great looking dog and a great offer for someone starting out.
