hobs and mesh size

hi all, when i ferret i use hobs my question is when he comes to the hole he stop feels the net and goes back in he stop trying to pass through coz he used to get tangled up, so would a slightly larger mesh size help and a heavyer net like a 10 oz am using cheap standard 4 oz nets he's a medium size hob. atb sp

4z snags on a blade of grass..............depends on the size of the mesh board used as to the size of the mesh. Im making my own with a larger mesh board 2 1/4 so i got a bigger mesh.

yeah thats what i thought to have some heavier nets with a bigger mesh size made.

Also mate, instead of lipping the bottom ring into the hole, push it into the mud. This has the same technique for pursing the rabbit, but when the ferret tries to fit through, the net holds ground a bit more, so is less likely to come away. The wind wont blow your flimsy 4 oz nets off either then ;)
